Set the aircond to 24–25°C and put it on a timer.

Air conditioning is usually the biggest single line on a Malaysian electricity bill.

Set 18°C 'so it cools faster' (it doesn't), then leave it running all night.

Set 24–25°C, use the sleep or timer mode, and use a fan alongside it. The compressor works less and the room still feels cool.
